THE MOUNTAIN BIKE COURSE

The course is achievable by riders with a reasonable level of fitness and skills, except for the complete novice, although there are some sections where inexperienced MTB riders may need to take caution, but they will be clearly marked.  Each lap of the course will take an average of 25-40 minutes to complete.

Description: 9km, approx. 70% single track / 30% bush tracks) The track starts off with 1 km of open fast flowing paddock riding through a maze of competitors tents alongside the track. Going up the paddock over Weiners Track into new single trail in the state forest, minus the "bitch hill" (1km) then an undulating climb on single trails, then comes a 4km downhill single trail and track to join onto the far end of Weiner’s Track. A short fire road climb then into 2km of single trail some short climbs, followed by 1km of fast fire roads and downhill (a real hoot). Turn right back into the Cavagnas Rd Track, 4.5km of single trail, including wide easily rideable bridges, numerous bermed up corners, minimal climbing, parts of the 2007 State Championships Track, finishing off with a 1 km downhill to the transition area.

• Camping onsite for Saturday night is available at a cost of $5, toilet facilities only provided onsite.
