2008 Report
Weiners and Cavagnas Rd Track Sedgwick
Last weekend saw the running of THE SIX HOUR race. The race attracted some 250 riders across 9 categories.
As a part of a series the race attracted people from near and far with some very good riders featuring across the range. The outstanding rider was probably John Claxton. John is a internationally recognized solo rider and took out the outright solo spot. John was also kind enough to endorse the track by saying that it was as good as any he had raced.
Local riders that did OK and podium included Josh Fleming in the pairs men's. Ron, Floody, Muzz, Pete, Gazza and Tonks in the 40+ triples. Plenty of others had a crack with the standout being Carry in Solo 40+ doing 9 laps which was a good effort.
The race timing system went off the radar for a bit and made it impossible to give out lap times, this enabled us to utilize a unique placing method called the honesty system. All categories were called up at races end asked who felt they did OK and we worked it out without any grizzles. Gave it a real community feeling with lots of prizes given out.
The usual suspects as always were there to set up and pull down- the track, the tent, the barbeque, the computer etc etc. Thanks Ron, John, Ross, Mary, Gazza, Merril, Mat, Ash and Carry. These people one day won’t be there to help and all will go asunder. Thanks also to those that cooked and did timing on the day.
